This act of loyalty and bravery strengthened Hanzō's position and made him a valued advisor to Ieyasu.
Hanzō died at the age of only 55 and it is believed that he died of an unknown natural cause. After his death, his legacy remained present not only through his amazing exploits, but also through his son, Hattori Masanari. According to traditional accounts, the latter took command of the Iga ninja fighters and served the Tokugawa clan just as loyally.
